The pandemic caused by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has devastatingly affected all layers of society. The pandemic and the inherent change in behaviors, along with poor predictability, generated greater anxiety among the population (Esakandari et al, 2020). Therefore, as the pandemic progressed, neuropsychological symptoms that were initially considered a possible acute reaction showed a tendency to become chronic in some people (Polisseni et al, 2020). This work aims to determine the prevalence of neuropsychiatric symptoms after 30 days and 1 year after the diagnosis of COVID-19. This is a cohort study, carried out from 12/10/2020 to 01/05/2022, carried out using a Google Forms document, sent via WhatsApp after 4 weeks and 1 year from the date of diagnosis of COVID-19 of individuals residing in Londrina-PR. It is demonstrated that 171 (45.1%) individuals presented symptoms of anxiety and depression after 4 weeks and 173 (45.6%) after 1 year of being diagnosed with COVID-19. There was an association between worsening and maintenance of psychiatric symptoms with female sex, hospitalization, presence of comorbidity and use of psychotropic drugs within 1 year after the diagnosis of COVID-19.
