Deforestation in the Amazon represents one of the greatest contemporary environmental threats, given its crucial role in global climate regulation and biodiversity maintenance. This study aims to analyze the impacts of deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon, focusing on greenhouse gas emissions, changes in hydrological cycles, and the consequences for biodiversity. The methodology includes a comprehensive literature review of scientific articles, reports from environmental organizations, and data provided by the National Institute for Space Research (INPE), in addition to the use of climate models and simulations to understand future scenarios. The results indicate that deforestation is directly linked to increased greenhouse gas emissions and the alteration of regional precipitation patterns, exacerbating the impacts of climate change. Furthermore, there is a significant loss of biodiversity due to the continuous fragmentation and degradation of the forest. The study concludes that urgent and effective measures are necessary to mitigate these impacts, promoting the conservation of the Amazon as a fundamental pillar of global climate stability and environmental sustainability.
