The A3 Problem Solving report is a problem-solving tool created by automaker Toyota for a simple and accurate structured approach that guides problem solving and continuous improvement, which is typically employed by manufacturing engineering professionals. Its objective is to structure problems solution. In this report the application of the A3 report was demonstrated. The research method used was action-research and the obtained results show that the tool allowed identify the root cause of the problem and with the action plan defined, the company obtained a process improvement, reflecting a productivity increase of 7.5%, ensuring the quality through implementation of established procedures and standardization. The project achieved a cost reduction of R$ 85,400.00 in the first year and R$ 135,400.00 per year in subsequent years.
