Burnout Syndrome is caused by excessive work, resulting in chronic stress and physical and emotional exhaustion. Addressing Burnout in psychologists is highly relevant as this disorder impacts quality of life. The study aimed to describe the role of psychologists and identify possible signs of Burnout in these professionals, using a bibliographic and exploratory research approach with materials from databases such as SciELO, PepSic, BVS, and CAPES Journals, published between 2000 and 2020. The results show an increase in the incidence of Burnout among psychologists, affecting their physical, mental, and social lives. Symptoms start mild but worsen over time, causing prolonged suffering. It is concluded that feelings of failure, insecurity, defeat, and hopelessness, along with environmental and social factors, are common in those suffering from Burnout. Therefore, it is essential to develop preventive actions to reduce stress and pressure at work. This phenomenon requires discussion in fields such as health, politics, public policies, and the community.
