PRESENT TENSE SWITCHES FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION
deliberations and demands of multilateral organizations in neoliberal times
Abstract
This essay, which is part of a dissertation research presented in 2021 in the Postgraduate Program in Social Service at the Federal University of Pará – PPGSS/UFPA, aims to make an introductory reflection on three main documents produced by multilateral organizations that, together and other documentary parameters, guided the Brazilian neoliberal counter-reform, with an emphasis on the Public Policy for University Education. Guided by the critical-dialectical method, we opted for documentary and bibliographical research that allowed us to identify that the guidelines of multilateral organizations favor the expansion of education in countries on the periphery of capital as a private service, in the composition of a management linked to the interests of businesspeople and a new market, that of higher education as a commodity, even speculated on the stock exchange
