Abstract

Educational actions involving environmental education are part of the scope of nursing and pedagogy professionals. It is up to the nursing professional to understand the tripod: quality of life, education/environmental health to guarantee the promotion of the collective health of the population in their social survival habitat. The aim of this study was to analyze the role of nursing professionals in the field of ecopedagogy and their contributions to the quality of collective health in socially vulnerable populations. An integrative literature review was used with a qualitative research focus. The study is cross-sectional and non-experimental, since the research took place at a given moment and no data manipulation occurred. The study was carried out in the SCIELO, LILACS and CAPES Periodicals databases, based on repositories published in the period from January to November 2020 to 2024. A search was carried out in the databases by crossing previously defined descriptors, using the Boolean operator, where 18 (eighteen) articles were selected, of which 07 (seven) articles were included. It was concluded that there is a great relationship between nursing and environmental education to promote man's quality of life and his relationship with the environment. Nursing professionals play a fundamental role in environmental education and promoting collective health, especially among populations in vulnerable situations. Its actions contribute to the prevention of diseases, the promotion of healthy environments and the reduction of inequalities, strengthening the resilience and quality of life of communities.
