Uma breve revisão de literatura

Abstract

Hypothyroidism, which is defined as a reduction in the synthesis and secretions of thyroid hormones, is one of the main causes of endocrine disorders. Based on the complexity of disorders of hypothyroidism about physiologic systems, this review addresses the morphofunctional aspects of thyroid gland, the physiopathology of hypothyroidism, as well as the more up-to-date therapeutic and diagnostic approaches to hypothyroidism control. In this way, it was performed deep bibliographic research using well-established research platforms. The studies highlighted the different kinds of hypothyroidism, congenital or acquired, in specific population groups, with focus in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, as well as pharmacological and non-pharmacological intervention strategies for the control and diagnosis of this disorder. As conclusion, the present study elucidated important topics related to hypothyroidism and general thyroid functions, with large contributions to the health area, with a view to physiological aspects, diagnosis, treatment, etiology, and the different affected groups.
