Abstract

This article presents the experiences and observations acquired during technical visits to the riverside communities of Furo da Paciência and Igarapé Piriquitaquara, located on Combu Island, in Belém do Pará, in the Brazilian Amazon region. Using a qualitative and participatory approach, the aim was to understand the sociocultural, environmental and economic dynamics that permeate the daily lives of these communities. The article also addresses how technologies and audiovisual media, integrated with local affections and knowledge, can be used to promote mental health, community engagement and social innovation, based on the concept of "technoaffects". The visits allowed for the establishment of a dialogue between academic knowledge and traditional Amazonian knowledge, revealing strategies of resistance, sensitive communication and local sustainability in the face of socio-environmental adversities.
