AN ANALYSIS OF CBN NATIONAL COVERAGE OF THE ENERGY CRISIS IN AMAPÁ
Keywords:
radio journalism, blackout, Jornal da CBN.Abstract
This article analyzes the journalistic coverage of CBN National radio on the shutdown that affected the state of Amapá in 2020. An energy crisis affected 13 of the state's 16 municipalities and lasted for almost the entire month of November. For this, two main methodologies were employed: bibliographic research and content analysis of 23 content published in the Journal of CBN and 42 journalistic materials available on the website of the broadcaster. The results show that through notes, news, reports and live entries, CBN sought to notify a problem bringing the developments and impacts in Amapaense society. The coverage contained materials directly from Macapá, as well as from Brasília, which showed the developments in the political field. However, the reality and suffering of the local population did not gain so much space on the radio, restricting itself more to official information and actions to solve the problem. Furthermore, a coverage focused on the capital and no journalistic material was found on how municipalities in the interior dealt with an energy crisis.
