ABSTRACT: The objective of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between body image dissatisfaction, attitudes towards eating disorders and nutritional status in university students of the bachelor's degree in physical education at a private educational institution in the city of Teresina, Piauí. Cross-sectional study, whose target population was University students of the Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education at Faculdade Estácio de Teresina, PI, which was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP), from the University Center of the Faculty of Health, Human Sciences and Technology of the Piauí – UNINOFAPI under Opinion No. 4,470,906. Data were obtained through the Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ), the Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26), in addition to questionnaires with personal data information. A total of 150 students from the bachelor's degree in physical education participated in the study, aged between 18 and 51 years old, 64% were between 18 and 25 years old. When analyzing the BSQ, it was found that 36% of the university students showed some degree of dissatisfaction with their body image, when adding the scores between mild, moderate, and severe satisfaction. EAT-26, the results showed that 72.5% of the students had a high prevalence of attitudes indicative of the development of eating disorders It is concluded, however, about the importance of new studies related to the prevalence of eating disorders, especially in students of of the health area in relation to care such as the body and food, providing new evidence for possible means of prevention and awareness around a strong cultural pressure that exists in society.
